Short Bio

Michael S. Wogalter is a Professor Emeritus of Psychology at North Carolina State University. Most of his research focuses on the factors that influence warning effectiveness and people’s perceptions of hazard and risk. His other interests include applied cognition, human factors, ergonomics, safety and human-machine/technology interaction. Previously he did research on face memory/perception and eyewitness identification. He has authored or co-authored more than 375 research-based publications. He has served as an expert witness in various legal cases involving human factors and warnings.
